The political arena is not the only place where politics develops. This can be seen in different ways in any office, large or small. When it comes to people, remember that these are not creatures of logic, but creatures of emotions. Most people who participate in politics do it to move forward. As they do? Rumors and rumors are the most popular form of politicization. Others include the merit of others ‘work, the sabotage of their colleagues’ work, or getting favors to suck the boss.

You can not avoid office politics. It’s a fact of life. You can have negative feelings about it. You may think that you take the high road by ignoring it. However, her lack of attention to what is happening in the workplace can be extremely dangerous, especially if she is an ambitious woman who works in a competitive business dominated by men.
The culture of the company, like any culture, evolves and changes. Instead of reacting to this, know that you have the power to influence those around you. In fact, you are probably more influential than you think. Concentrate on changing the culture of your business from the inside, even if it is rather small, through the example. The good old golden rule is powerful enough. What we bring to the world tends to come back to us. Play the political office game in an authentic and positive way. You can even change the game itself along the way.
So, what should you do to move forward? What should an ambitious woman do to navigate successfully in a predominantly male organization that has landmines everywhere?
The answer is that you must be politically intelligent. And the good news is that political knowledge is a skill and not a trait. You can learn it and you do not need to compromise its integrity.
You should not feel that you have to participate in negativity, even if it is part of the culture. If you are a good guy, this is probably not the first time you leave the crowd. Of course, you see how others use the system to move forward. But that does not mean it’s the only way to get what you want.
First, commit to being your kind and ethical person. You will relax and give up some tension once you have firmly decided not to lower yourself to that level. You will do your own course. Remember that you can get things done a little differently.
The political arena is not the only place where politics develops. This can be seen in different ways in any office, large or small. As Dale Carnegie puts it, the reason is simple: “When it comes to people, remember that these are not creatures of logic, but creatures of emotions.”
Most people who participate in politics do it to move forward. As they do? Rumors and rumors are the most popular form of politicization. Others include the merit of others ‘work, the sabotage of their colleagues’ work, or getting favors to suck the boss.

Advice
- Do not be afraid to showcase your own accomplishments to your boss and colleagues. A strong personality is hard to break.
- Do not go too far in the path of partnerships. All that is needed is a change of personnel to change the balance of power. Having allies in all areas (rather than in a faction) is therefore the most effective.
- Watch over-competitive colleagues who might feast on their own demise. If the balance of power becomes too difficult to bear, it may be time to look for a new job.
In the meantime, be aware of any confusion in the office that may be addressed to you. If a boss or coworker is working to sabotage his career, or if he feels sabotaged, for whatever reason, it can be difficult to manage. Complain, and you are no longer considered a team player or you may be accused of imagining the situation. Sit down and do nothing, and your career progression could be in danger.
If a colleague is trying to denigrate his character, blame him for something he has not done, or steal his credit for his work, be sure to stay calm. Do not confront the saboteur. Start by carefully evaluating the unpleasant possibility that your assumptions about the person are wrong. Make sure you are not the problem. If in doubt, consult a trusted colleague or mentor. If you think you are right, talk about this problem to your boss in private.
